“Is a foreign agency responsible for crafting the Congress manifesto?” questions Himanta Biswa Sarma #politics

Hours after Congress unveiled its manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a sharp attack on the party, asking whether it was drafted by a foreign agency. Taking to his Twitter handle, Sarma criticized the Congress manifesto, pointing out various shortcomings. He questioned, “Have they hired a foreign agency to draft their manifesto?”

The Congress party had recently released its manifesto, named ‘Nyay Patra’, at the party headquarters in the national capital. The manifesto, unveiled by party President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, promises justice through ‘five pillars’.

In the midst of his criticism, Chief Minister Sarma was in Dibrugarh on Friday to campaign for BJP candidate Sarbananda Sonowal. Expressing his support for Sonowal, Sarma highlighted their long-standing association and Sonowal’s commitment towards the people.

The Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat, where Sonowal is contesting, is scheduled to go to polls in the first phase on April 19.
