“Heartfelt donation of 3000 crore for Ram Mandir contrasts with lack of funds for public housing, criticizes TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee” #politics

In a scathing attack on the construction of the Ram Mandir, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee criticized the allocation of funds towards the project while neglecting other pressing issues. Addressing a rally in Maynaguri of Jalpaiguri district, Banerjee questioned, “They built Ram Mandir with 3000 crore, but no money for your house.” He accused the Modi-led BJP government of withholding funds for various projects in West Bengal, including the MNREGS and PMAY.

Banerjee’s remarks come in the midst of allegations of corruption and misuse of power against the TMC-ruled Mamata Banerjee government. Notably, the Central Government has halted the allotment of funds for the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (PMAY) due to allegations of excessive corruption. Banerjee’s criticism of the Ram Mandir construction is in line with other TMC leaders, such as Sayani Ghosh, who previously sparked controversy by posting a picture of a Shivling with a condom.

While pointing fingers at the Central Government for the lack of funds, Abhishek Banerjee failed to address the corruption within his own party that has led to the withholding of funds. Critics argue that the TMC-led government’s mismanagement has resulted in the loss of trust from the Central Government, thereby hindering the progress of essential projects in the state.
