RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s close associate Subhash Yadav taken into custody by ED in Bihar for sand mining scam #politics

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made a significant arrest in the ongoing money laundering probe related to illegal sand mining in Bihar. Subhash Yadav, a close aide of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, was taken into custody following raids at several locations in Patna.

According to ED officials, Subhash was arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and was produced before a special PMLA court on Sunday morning. The agency had conducted raids at his residence in Patna’s Danapur locality and other residential locations.

The investigation revealed that Subhash allegedly runs the business of illegal sand mining in Bihar and is a prominent sand trader in the region. He is also the Director of Broadson Construction Pvt Ltd. It was further disclosed that the money laundering case originated from FIRs filed by the Bihar Police.

Various raids and investigations have been conducted in connection with this case over the past few years. Earlier, the Income Tax Department had also raided Subhash’s premises in connection with a tax evasion case in 2018.

Earlier in the case, syndicate member Radha Charan Sah, his son, and the directors of BSPL were arrested by ED under PMLA. The investigation has revealed a significant amount of Proceeds of Crime (POC) generated through the illegal sale of sand.
