Prime Minister Modi’s Credibility Reigns Supreme in Ratings, Analysts Say #politics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s credibility has been highlighted as his biggest strength as he enters his third term as the leader of the BJP-NDA. Known for his untarnished image and commitment towards nation building, PM Modi has gained the trust of the masses with his promises and declarations. His reputation stands in stark contrast to past leaders, such as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who faced turmoil and protests due to corruption allegations.

During Indira Gandhi’s time in office, the country faced a series of protests and a nationwide agitation known as the JP movement. The Allahabad High Court’s ruling against her in a corruption case led to a loss in elections for the Congress party. In response, Gandhi declared a state of emergency, targeting opposition leaders and restricting freedoms. However, the tables turned in the 1977 elections, with the defeat of the Congress regime.

Similarly, under PM Narsimha Rao, allegations of Hawala money tarnished various opposition leaders, including L.K.Advani. Despite the storm of controversy, leaders like Advani and Madan Lal Khurana maintained probity and eventually were acquitted of all charges. PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also faced intense scrutiny during their time in Gujarat, with accusations of rioting, bomb blasts, and fake encounters. Despite the relentless campaign against them, both leaders were cleared of all charges.

As PM Modi’s government approaches the 2024 mandate, the opposition appears disorganized and plagued by corruption scandals. The support and credibility PM Modi has garnered from the masses have positioned him as a strong and unwavering leader, setting him apart in the political landscape.
