Controversy surrounds Trinamool nominee over alleged ‘Anti-Hindu’ comments captured in viral video #politics

A video showing Trinamool Congress candidate Prasun Banerjee making controversial remarks on religious communities has stirred up a controversy. In the video, Banerjee is heard saying, “Who are these so-called Hindus? Muslims came here 800 years ago. There were no Hindus back then… They didn’t exist during the time of Taimur and Babur. The concept of Hindus only emerged 300-400 years ago.”

The BJP in West Bengal has strongly condemned Banerjee’s comments, calling them historically inaccurate and incendiary. They have uploaded the video on their official social media handle and criticized Banerjee for his statements.

The BJP stated, “Such disregard for historical facts and inflammatory language is unacceptable. His assertion that Hindus did not exist until a few centuries ago, and dismissing their historical presence during the significant periods, is not only historically inaccurate, but also incendiary.”

The controversy surrounding Banerjee’s remarks has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many people expressing outrage over his statements. The Trinamool nominee now faces backlash for his ‘Anti-Hindu’ comments in the viral video.
