Anna Hazare expresses deep sorrow over Arvind Kejriwal’s consequences for his actions #politics

Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare has expressed his dismay over the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, stating that Kejriwal is now facing the consequences of his own actions. Speaking to a large crowd of mediapersons in his native village Ralegan-Siddhi, Hazare recounted his past collaboration with Kejriwal during the India Against Corruption movement in 2011.

“I remember, he was working with me and we both had raised our voices against liquor… But now he’s trying to accord legal sanction to liquor. I felt very hurt by it,” lamented Hazare. Despite his disappointment, Hazare believes that Kejriwal is now reaping what he has sown. “If he had not done such things (liquor policy), this (arrest) would not have happened. Now, the law shall take its course, the government will see and decide what has to be done,” Hazare remarked.

This comes as Kejriwal was detained, questioned, and ultimately arrested by the Enforcement Directorate, leading to a stir in opposition political circles. Hazare’s comments mark his first reaction to the news of Kejriwal’s arrest, emphasizing the importance of accountability and the consequences of one’s actions.
