Mamata Banerjee seeks to defend blast accused by involving NIA, claims Amit Shah #politics

In a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused her of obstructing the investigation into the 2022 Bhupatinagar blast case. Shah alleged that Banerjee was trying to protect the blast accused by implicating the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials who were investigating the case.

Speaking at a rally in South Dinajpur district, Shah stated, “There was a blast. Is it not necessary to take action against the accused in the blast? But in this case, when the NIA officers started investigation and were attacked, the Chief Minister is making all attempts to implicate the investigating officials by registering a case against them.”

Despite Banerjee’s efforts, Shah reassured that the NIA would continue its investigation and take appropriate action against the perpetrators behind the blast as directed by the Calcutta High Court.

Shah also criticized Banerjee’s stance on illegal immigration in West Bengal, claiming that her party benefits from the illegal immigrants who form a significant part of their vote bank. He highlighted the success of the BJP in curbing illegal immigration in Assam and promised to do the same in West Bengal if the BJP comes to power.

The Home Minister emphasized the importance of initiatives like the abolition of triple talaq and the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) for the welfare of minority women and genuine refugees. Despite Banerjee’s opposition, Shah affirmed that the CAA would be implemented at any cost.

In conclusion, Shah urged the people of West Bengal to support the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls to secure over 30 seats in the state and a total of 370 seats nationally.
