Established on October 18th 1984, the Hindu Temple of Atlanta was made on a land donated by a group of 15 people who wanted to provide a place of worship for their local Hindu community and their children.

The temple has Dravidian style architecture.
Temple Guidelines:
- All devotees must wash their hands at the entry point and must not touch walls or any objects within the temple premises. This guideline is made mandatory post covid 19.
- Interaction with the priests and/or touching idols and bells is not a common practice at the Atlanta Hindu temple.
- Sashtanga namaskar or Dandvat pranam, loud singing and chanting are not allowed anywhere in the temple.
- No cash transactions allowed, only Cheques and Credit Cards are accepted.

#2. Swaminarayan Hindu Temple of Atlanta
Also known as BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir of Atlanta, where BAPS stands for Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha which is a Hindu denomination within the Swaminarayan Sampradaya and has Hindu temples throughout the USA.
The Swaminarayan Hindu Temple of Atlanta was inaugurated by the BAPS on 26th August 2007.
Temple architecture:
Spread in 30 acres, the temple is made of 34,450 pieces of hand-carved Italian marble, Turkish Limestone and Indian pink sandstone and is constructed in accordance with ancient Hindu architectural scriptures such as Brihatsamhita and others.

- No food or drink is allowed on the premises. Please discard chewing gum prior to entering.
- Cell phones must be switched off inside the Mandir. Please observe silence and refrain from touching or leaning against the delicate carvings in the Mandir.
- No photography or video inside the main structure of the temple is allowed. Professional photography or photo sessions with any photography gear are not permitted anywhere.
- Children are welcome. However, visitors aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
- No pets are allowed within the complex.

- A guided tour of the Mandir is provided to groups of 10+ people with advanced reservations Monday thru Saturday.
- The Nilkanth Varni Abhishek Mandapam is located on the ground floor of the Mandir. This sacred part of the Mandir welcomes all visitors to participate in the ‘Abhishek’ ritual amidst the chanting of prayers and mantras. Abhishekam timings are, 9:00 am to 10:15 am, 11:35 am to 12:00 pm and 4:15 pm to 6:00 pm.

Shree Ambaji Shakti Mandir of Atlanta was started in 1990 and the murti sthapna was done on June 6, 1993. The temple was established to fulfill the spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the local community.

Since its inception, the Ambaji temple has changed a lot. From a typical American residential architecture to currency established garbha mandapa and shikhar according to Agni Purana popularly followed by north Indian temples.

Sanatan Mandir is the oldest Hindu temple in Atlanta. Started in 1971 to create a cultural center for 250 Hindu families, the Sanatan Hindu temple of Atlanta was officially inaugurated in 1985 at the 3.5 acres of land which has now expanded upto 10 acres.

The Siddhivinayak Mandir was conceptualized and started by Pt. Mallikarjuna S Sarma in February 2015. Located in a commercial building in the Global mall and surrounded by Indian shops and restaurants, this temple has the second largest Ganesha idol in Georgia.

Greater Atlanta Vedic Temple Society, Inc. founded in 1986, is a religious charitable tax exempt organization generally known as Vedic Temple. The temple follows the principles of Arya Samaj.
